we would be living in a house like
this as PCV. Maybe a hut at best is
what we imagined.

Thanks for the August update! I love reading these and drop everything I am doing the minute I get notice that it's been updated. Your box from me should be arriving soon - - another box with more utilitarian stuff you requested will be sent in the next few weeks. Can't wait to visit in 2010 and looking forward to seeing what you're experiencing first-hand! Jane
ReplyDeleteHi Shel & Chris!! As I sit here in my air conditioned office reading your August blog...I am laughing my head off...and for some reason tears came to my eyes!! I can just see the bus ride, the haircut, the fireworks!!!....what an adventure you are on!! Enjoy the ride as hard as it may seem sometimes. We miss you guys. Merry Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteLove you..
Laurie, Scott, Shane & Dylan
We love the updates, please keep them coming! I hope you both are doing well, we miss you! Take care in your white castle!

You guys look great!! Now that I see the pictures it makes more sense.(where you are living) It is hard to picture it in your head. Bob wants pictures of the inside of the house (he's weird)
ReplyDeleteone more thing. Chris bob likes the beard
ReplyDeleteJoe Reed here. You guys look great and it's extremely eye opening, even from way over here in Wisconsin, to read your blog and experience Botswana through your eyes.
ReplyDeleteDespite your hardships I'm envious of your experiences. Riding in a taxi in New York or getting your haircut at a Sports Clips is no less horrifying and far less edifying.
Keep on truck'n and your guys adobe mansion is freaking swank.
Shel and Chris,
ReplyDeleteIt is very interesting to read about your transition into life in Botswana. I am from the National Peace Corps Association and I wanted to urge you to check out our new Africa Rural Connect website. Here is the link: arc.peacecorpsconnect.org/
Also, pass it along to any family or friends you think may be interested. Good luck again on your time in the peace corps. I know that it will be an unforgetable and rewarding experience!
